About

Photography is derived from the Greek phot- for "light" and -graphos for "drawing", but founded by the French inventor Nicéphore Niépce.  This craft has been around for 191 years as the first photograph was taken in 1822.

Modern Meta is a blog focused on the craft of photography. Photographic elements such as composition, lighting, products, and post-production editing will be studied and recorded as I practice this incredibly satiating art.

I'm shooting with a Nikon D7100 and have a D5100 as back up.

I have four lens to call upon:

  1. AF-S Nikkor 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6
  2. AF-S Nikkor 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5
  3. AF-S Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G
  4. AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.8G
Nikon 10-24mm

While this blog is not intended to be didactic, I hope something here may help you along the way in your practice. Happy light drawing!
